History
KQTY first signed on the air as KHUZ on January 9, 1947. We are
Borger's first Radio Station; and today, we are the only station
physically active in Borger and Hutchinson County.
Technical
KQTY simulcasts 24-hours a day at FM 106.7 with 6000 watts of
power and 1490 AM with 1000 watts of power.
Music
KQTY features "Today's BEST Country!" One of ABC Radio
Network's 24 hour music affiliates. Our focused programming features
Country's fresh new music and your favorite all time Country hits
attracting a broad demographic of 18 to 54 year old listeners.
News-Talk
KQTY AM 1490 features 24-hour programming with radio personalities
like: Larry King, Dennis Miller, Tammy Bruce, Jerry Doyle, Lars
Larson, Rusty Humphries, Carry Brothers, Ron Seggi, Robert Scott
Bell, Jackie Mason, Ben Ferguson and Doug Stephan. Also there's
Daybreak USA, Saturday Night America, Cyberline, Point Of View,
and the Golden Age of Radio.
Sports
KQTY AM 1490, features live sporting events, including: Pro Football
and the Super Bowl, Major League Baseball with the World Series,
even the BCS College Football Bowl series. Also the Borger High
School games will still be simulcast on AM 1490 and 106.7 FM.
Also on weekends, Outdoors This Week, Road and Track Speed, Car
and Driver, and Motor Trend Radio.
Personalities
KQTY 106.7 FM features The Morning Show weekdays 6:00-10:00 AM;
hosted by George Grover; and it's the standard "Get Ya Going"
family friendly show listened to by almost everyone that is anybody
in Hutchinson County. It also includes "The Classifieds"
9:00-10:00 AM weekdays; "Our most listened to hour!"
The Texas Country Lunch Show with Danny Ray airs from 10:00-1:00
PM weekdays; featuring Country's next generation hit makers from
across the states of Texas and Oklahoma. Catch great Southern
Gospel music with Jerry Smith from 6:30 to 10:45 am every Sunday.
